Spring Break Migration

March 7, 2012

Birds are starting to come back to Jersey, and so are we. Cold mornings in front of the fire, dogs huddled in sleeping bags, dead car batteries, birds, editing novels and trying to fix cars and hot water heaters are making this spring break pass too quickly. But the sooner it passes, the closer we get to summer–where the waves are warmer and the size of keeper flounder just got reduced from 18 to 17.5 inches. I can almost taste them, frying in the cast iron skillet, with butter, onions, good wine and good friends.
